Re-checked 4 September 2026 · Nothing here is for sale

How a company gets listed

Right AI for the Job is an independent editorial directory for finding AI tools by task. Two tests decide what is listed, in that order, and neither of them is for sale. They are mechanical enough that you can check the result yourself against any company on this page.

The two tests

Anything passing both is listed. Anything failing either is not listed at any price.

Test one

It ships something you can use

Not a waitlist, not a previewNot a research preview, and not a model other companies build products on top of. This is a single mechanical check in the code, not a judgement call, and it is the test that does nearly all the work.
Test two

It fits one of the ten categories

No shoehorningA tool that does something real but does not belong to any of them is not forced into the closest one.

What being listed is not

And what this site deliberately does not do, which matters as much.

Not an endorsement

What being listed is not

Not boughtThere is no application, no submission form and no fee. Companies are added because we found them, and none has been asked for permission to list it.
Not an awardIt means the product exists, is reachable, and does the job its category describes. Every card carries a “watch out for” line for exactly this reason.
Not permanentA company comes off when its product stops being reachable or stops fitting a category. Several have.
Not a ranking you can moveOrder is set by how well a tool fits the task you picked and whether it has a free plan. It is not set by commission, and there is nothing on this site a company can buy.
Deliberately absent

What this site does not do

No ratingsThere are no stars, no scores out of ten and no user reviews. A directory this size cannot gather enough genuine reviews to mean anything, and the alternative is inventing a number.
No sponsored slotsPlacement is not sold, so there is no second list and no badge a company can buy.
No hidden formulaThe ordering rule below is the whole of it. Nothing is withheld as proprietary.

What a listing actually rests on

This is the part most directories leave vague, so it is stated plainly: nothing on this site has been hands-on tested. No tool here has been bought, installed, signed up for or put through a task by anybody writing these pages. Every listing is written from the product’s own public documentation, pricing pages and policies.

Read and written up here

What that meansSomebody read this product’s own pages and wrote the category fit, the strength, the “watch out for” line and the cost line from them. These listings carry the date the catalogue was last verified.
What it still is notReading documentation carefully is not testing software. Nothing in these entries comes from having used the product.

Imported, not yet read

What that meansThe product is real and reachable and fits a category, and that is the whole of what this site knows about it. Nobody here has read its pricing page.
What the page does about itAn imported listing carries no prices, no fit rating and no verification date — not a stale one, none at all. It says so on the page rather than borrowing the catalogue’s date, which would be a lie about that particular tool.

Prices, features and policies change without notice. Confirm anything that matters — and especially anything about how a vendor handles your data — on the vendor’s own pages before you pay them or upload anything confidential.

What gets in, and what does not

The two tests above are the mechanical part. These are the judgements around them, written down so they can be held against the catalogue.

Listed when

Inclusion

It has a working public siteA product page anybody can reach, with a primary use case you can state in a sentence.
Its claims were read, not assumedThe category, the strength and the limitation come from the product’s own documentation and pricing pages.
The basis is statedEvery tool page says whether this site has read it or only imported it, and carries a date only when there is a real one to carry.
It can be corrected or removedA listing changes when the product does, and comes off when the product stops being reachable or stops fitting a category. Several have.
Never listed

Exclusion

Misleading claimsA product whose own marketing states things its documentation contradicts.
Deceptive billingTrials that are hard to cancel by design, prices that appear only after a card is entered, or renewal terms a buyer would not reasonably expect.
Unverifiable identityIf who operates a product cannot be established from its own site, it is not listed, however good it looks.
Asking, or payingNo listing exists because a vendor requested it or offered money. There is nothing to buy and no form to apply on.
Unclear what it doesIf this site cannot determine the job a tool is for, it is left out rather than guessed at.

How this site makes money

At the moment it does not. There are no affiliate links on this site, no sponsorship, no advertising and no paid placement — nothing here is for sale and nothing anybody could buy. Every outbound link is the product’s own ordinary address.

We do not intend to take commissions. If that ever changed, any link that paid would carry a label where it appears and the footer of every page would say so, before the arrangement began rather than after — and the build refuses to publish a page that links through a referral URL, so this is checked rather than promised. What a commission would not buy in any case: a listing, a position, a rating, or kinder wording. The ordering rule below is the whole of it.

How the listed tools are ordered

Two inputs, both visible on every card.

Fit

How well the tool fits the category — built for it, a strong fit, or works without it being its focus.

Free plan

Whether there is one you can start on today.

Then alphabetically

Ties break by name. That is the whole rule. There is no score, no weighting we decline to publish, and no editorial thumb.

What keeps it current

Prices are re-checked automatically on the 15th of each month against each vendor’s own pricing page, and where a vendor blocks automated reading, the check is done by hand and the reason is published on that tool’s page. A detected change is reported for review; nothing on this site is repriced automatically, so every figure here is one a person has confirmed. The catalogue was last verified 4 September 2026.

Questions

Can a company pay to be listed here?

No, and there is nothing to buy. There is no application, no submission form and no fee. This site takes no commission on any link on it, so there is not even an indirect reason to prefer one company over another — and a commission would buy no listing, no position and no wording in any case.

Why is a company I have heard of not listed?

Almost always the first test: it does not sell anything you can go and use. Chip designers, cloud and inference providers, robotics and defence firms are all in that position — they are excluded for having no consumer product, not for being poor companies. The figure on this site is the number of tools, which is what you came to choose between.

How do I get a tool added?

Tell us through the ticket form on the home page. It gets added if it passes the same two tests as everything else, and the answer is the same whoever is asking — there is no difference between a reader suggesting a tool and the company that makes it doing so.

Does being listed mean you recommend it?

No. Listing means the product exists, is reachable, and does the job its category describes. What separates the tools once they are here is the fit rating and the cost line, and the "watch out for" line on every card exists precisely because listing is not endorsement.

Corrections

Found an error, or has something material changed? Write to support@rightaiforthejob.com with the page you were on and what is wrong, or use the ticket form on the home page under “Add or update a listing”. Corrections are reviewed and the page is updated when warranted; a tool whose listing cannot be made accurate comes off instead.

What has changed on this page

Last updated 2 October 2026.

2 October 2026

Added the inclusion and exclusion criteria, the section on what a listing actually rests on — including that nothing here is hands-on tested and how many listings nobody here has read — the corrections route, and this history. Separately, Google Analytics and a Google Ads conversion tag were added to the site; the Privacy Policy and Cookie Notice name both, the cookies they set and how to refuse them.
